He favored the arm for a couple of hours and then was back up and playing. I noticed that he still wasn't really using it. He wouldn't let us touch it or move it.
I took him to the school nurse on Monday morning and she suggessted that I take him to the doctor. I left school and we got x-rays. We were told nothing was wrong as far as breaks, but to call back on Friday if it didn't get better. Well, Wednesday morning we had tears trying to get dressed for school. He still wasn't using it or letting me touch it. I called the doctor back and she wanted to me go see an ortho doctor.
So we headed out and the doctor told us he has a small hairline fracture in the larger bone of the lower arm...can't remember which bone that is. It was pretty small on the x-ray, but he said that could be due to the swelling at the time of the x-ray.
Jake is sporting a green cast for the next week. We will go back Tuesday and take another x-ray and the doctor will decide if he needs the cast for another week or not.
Here's a picture of Jake sporting the green cast. His exact words in the car were, 'This is the coolest day of my life. I have a sword for an arm!'
